On a Sunday afternoon on which many celebrated the first day of the western New Year, these two Vietnamese ladies pedaled the lush, green backroads of Vietnam’s Ben Tre Province. Ben Tre is situated in the Mekong Delta.

Some of my highlights have included sharing meals with locals in Armenia, Cambodia, and Tunisia; sipping sparkling wine with French cousins in Alsace; milking goats in a sleepy Bulgarian village; and training with a Japanese mine-clearance team in Laos. My husband, Shawn, and I are based in France’s Loire Valley.

Beautiful! Looks like a lovely part of the country, I can’t wait to explore it! Where are you guys at the moment, still Vietnam? I have loved all your images and words, it has whet my appetite for our SE Asian adventure. Hope you’re well :)

Hi Sarah, glad to keep you inspired through your busy days! Do you have a countdown going?!

We just crossed into Laos from Vietnam yesterday. It’s Shawn’s first time here, my second, but we’re exploring new territory, and a semi-remote area (Phonsavan & the soon-to-be UNESCO World Heritage Site registered Plain of Jars). So glad you enjoy the posts – it’s encouragement like yours that keeps me writing – even when days are busy and fun-packed!

It’s Chinese New Year tonight and the firecrackers are going! Happy New Year of the Dragon and happy travels to you soon!
